How do I know whether a boom arm clamp will fit my desk?

Measure the full desk thickness at the exact clamp location, the flat underside contact area and any apron, rail, lip or cable tray inside the clamp path. Compare those measurements with the arm’s maximum clamp opening and throat depth.

Does microphone weight include the shock mount?

Yes. Use the combined operating weight of the microphone, shock mount, thread adapter, pop filter and any accessory the arm must hold. Include meaningful cable pull if the cable is stiff or tightly routed.

What is clamp throat depth?

Clamp throat depth is how far the lower clamp pad or screw assembly reaches inward from the desk edge. It matters when an apron or rail sits close to the edge.

Can a microphone boom arm clear a monitor?

Sometimes. A high-rise arm may pass above a display while a low-profile arm may pass below or around it. BoomArmFit models the top-view route and uses the entered heights to flag routes that still need a physical check.

Is the result a guarantee that an arm will fit?

No. It is a planning estimate based on the measurements and published specifications you enter. Joint limits, pad shapes, cable routing and product revisions can change the real installation.

Are my measurements uploaded?
